french onion soup

 

¼ c. butter

4c. thinly sliced onion

2 T beef base

4c of water

2 slices French bread, 1 inch thick

T T grated parmesan cheese

1 oz process gruyere cheese, grated

 

 

 

Hamburger soup

1-1/2 pounds lean ground beef (90% lean)

1 medium onion, chopped

1 can (28 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained

2 cans (14-1/2 ounces each) beef broth

1 cup water

4 celery ribs, thinly sliced

4 large carrots, halved and thinly sliced

10 whole peppercorns

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup quick-cooking barley

1/4 cup minced fresh parsley

 

 

 

Homemade soup: butternut squash soup coconut milk

 

1 tablespoon  olive oil  

1/2 cup  thinly sliced shallots

1 tablespoon  minced garlic

1 tablespoon  minced peeled fresh ginger

2 cups  water

1/2 cup  canned coconut milk

1 teaspoon  salt

Whole butter nut squash

1 tablespoon  fresh lime juice

2 T butter

½ onion, chopped

2 large carrots

½ clove garlic

2 c of water

2 T chicken bouillon powder

½ pound fresh broccoli florets

1 c half and half cream

2 T all-purpose flour

¼ c ice water

1-1/2 t soy sauce

¼ t ground pepper

2 T chopped parsley
